Stella

I had the great pleasure of photographing beautiful Stella, an 8.5 year old Great Pyrenees, at her home in Portland.  This charming lady has had a rough go of it over the past year.  She had a leg amputated due to bone cancer in April, but I was amazed at how well she could move around!  She was puppy-like as she wiggled in the snow.  🙂

Stella’s mom contacted me for a Heal Session after learning that Stella would need to have her right eye removed due to a likely malignant growth on the eye, itself.  I was honored to meet Stella and witness the mutual love and respect she and her tremendously caring companion have for each other.

After checking in with Stella’s mom to see how her eye surgery went, I learned that the surgery was cancelled.  Apparently the bone cancer that resulted in Stella’s amputation has spread to her lungs.  However, Stella is doing chemotherapy treatments at home and is comfortable.  I wish her and her mom lots of love.
